"Magnetic and seismic data suggest that a submarine caldera with a central lava dome is present east of Granite Harbor and north of Ross Island, near the western coast of the Ross Sea. Apparent temperatures above the Curie temperature suggested the presence of magma and a Holocene age for the volcano (Behrendt et al., 1987), which is located near the southern end of the submarine Victoria Land Basin."  -Smithsonian Volcano Archive
